Stratus Technologies, which manufactures very high-availability
servers, has joined forces with Techwan a software company to offer
key players in the public security and safety sector an optimal emergency
operations management solution. This solution, which should quickly
be deployed in France, has already been adopted by the Geneva International
Airport Security and Safety Department and the Geneva Fire and Emergency
Services Authority.
THE FT SERVER RANGE AND THE SAGA SOLUTION: A WINNING
COMBINATION
Having manufactured very high-availability servers
for more than 20 years (with the guarantee of less than 5 minutes
of total outage time per year), Stratus Technologies now announces
its partnership with Techwan, the Swiss software company that manures
the SAGA application, which manages alarm systems for emergency intervention
units. SAGA allows for the co-ordination of all emergency forces,
including fire brigades, mobile emergency medical services, police
forces, airport safety departments, industrial sites, etc. This solution
is constructed around a 'pivotal' database that simultaneously contains
the operational context (events and related intervention procedures),
the resources (internal and external personnel, means of intervention),
the geobase (geographical database), the mapping (images and maps),
and archived information (journal and statistics). Deployed on a very
high-availability Stratus Technologies server, this solution offers
key players involved with public security and safety the highest degree
of reliability when it comes to co-ordinating emergency intervention
forces. This is an excellent product that can satisfy the requirements
of national emergency call (112) centres.
