SAGA - THE SOFTWARE FREEDOM

As of December 2nd, SAGA will be available in toolkit mode. This new version allows the system administrator to adapt the 'user interface' to your business needs.

With the tools provided, the layout of the windows is defined by the user including, size, position, the fields contained, their format, their value and the processes with whom they belong. This user interface management also includes the definition of colours, fonts, buttons and icons. All definition are stored in XML format.

The icons are chosen in the icon library, with the option of creating new ones with the appropriate tools from the market. It is also possible to specify fields to trigger external applications or processes.

The same toolbox allows to manage the texts and to translate the application in its contextual presentation. The supported alphabets are Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Arabic. Several languages can be used simultaneously on the same system.

The SAGA application server is open to input connectors such as PABX, radio and automatic alarm devices. It is also open to output connectors, such as PABX, radio, pagers, mail, fax, and other automatic devices. If an interface is not available, TECHWAN can assist in its development.

Using the tools available on the 'Smart Client' and the processes on the business logic server, SAGA becomes a generic software application, capable of creating personalised dispatch applications.

In distributed environments, SAGA offers the possibility to other systems to subscribe to events. For example, in the case of a 112 or 911 emergency calls, an XML information card will be automatically transmitted to subscribers systems.

In decentralised configurations, SAGA manages remote workstations as if they were local. The asynchronous message queuing mode needs only a narrow bandwidth.

The three tier architecture allows an easy deployment and automated version updates, an important feature for multiple sites.

SAGA runs on system with INTEL or AMD processors. However, TECHWAN recommends the ftServer from Stratus which delivers continuous processing in critical environments.

SAGA will still be available in specialised versions (police, fire brigade, ambulance centre, airports, industry), with the added advantage of the system administrators being able to modify the package presentation.
